House rules
The rules that keep our homes safe.
Every home has the same rules. They keep everyone safe. They also help you build good habits for when you live on your own.
What we ask of every resident
We go over each rule with you before you move in. You sign an agreement that lists them all. It also has the exact times, like when curfew starts.
-
Stay off drugs and alcohol
No drugs or alcohol in the home or on the grounds. Do not come home high or drunk. We may ask you to take a drug or alcohol test.
-
Be home by curfew
Be home on time each night. If work or a meeting will keep you out late, tell staff first. Follow any rules from your parole or probation officer too.
-
Go to house meetings
We meet as a house to talk, plan chores, and fix problems. Everyone comes. Your voice matters here.
-
Work, look for work, or go to a program
Spend your days moving forward. That can be a job, a job search, school, or a treatment program. Your case manager can help you find a start.
-
Meet with your case manager
You and your case manager make a plan together. It covers things like work, health, money, and where you will live next. Keep your meetings and work on your goals.
-
Treat housemates and neighbors with respect
Be kind and fair. No fighting, threats, or weapons. Keep noise down, and respect other people's things and space.
Taking care of the home
- Do your share of the chores.
- Keep your room and shared rooms clean.
- Ask staff before you have a guest over.
- Pay your share of costs on time, if you have one.
- Tell staff right away if something breaks.
If a rule is broken
We talk with you first. We want to help you get back on track. What happens next depends on what went wrong. Safety for the whole house always comes first.
